She had this great idea in 1849. She wanted to make 200 dollars but the cards became very popular and she made 5000!
She hired some workers to make more and more Valentine's cards. Everyone in the US wanted to send Valentine's cards and Esther's business started to make 100.000 dollars a year.
Today we still send Valentine's cards but we can also send e-cards or text a message and a photo.
